๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ๐™๐˜ผ๐™Ž๐™. According to a study in the American Journal of Public Health, following the checklist recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force would take 8.6 hours of a doctorโ€™s time each day.  That doesnโ€™t include implementing other guidelines for chronic and acute care, or administrative work.

This is a global phenomenon โ€“ with British researchers saying that guideline makers should consider โ€œthe time needed to treatโ€ โ€” how much time it takes to implement a guideline.

In our market research studies, physicians repeatedly tell us that they are incredibly pressed for time.  Itโ€™s eye-opening to learn that guidelines intended to help facilitate the quality of care are so time-consuming to implement.

How can we as an industry help with this?  Weโ€™d love to hear what you think!
