𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝙁𝘼𝙎𝙏. “The Behavioral Health Ecosystem Is Still Out Of Alignment.” This is a fascinating title for an important article. But what does “out of alignment” mean? Simple. The demand side, i.e., people requiring behavioral health intervention, and the supply side, mental health practitioners, are not being effectively matched up with each other. Patients are often directed to the first available slot rather than to the best slot for them. Practitioners often get frustrated by the kinds of cases referred to them, and by the absence of outcomes data that can be used to direct care.

The solution? A “switchboard” that competently and speedily matches patient with caregiver, replete with expert triage and data collection and processing capacities to keep track of outcomes and fine tune the switchboard over time.
