Twitter advertiser exodus deepens as Volkswagen, Pfizer and General Mills hit pause on ad spending

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ๐™๐˜ผ๐™Ž๐™. Pfizer has reportedly become one of the many companies, including Volkswagen and General Mills, to push the โ€œpauseโ€ button on its Twitter advertising spend. Why? Simple! Elon Musk has hit his new acquisition like a ton of bricks, firing its Board, terminating many of its executives and letting go half the total staff. AND. Rumor has it that he is rethinking his approach to โ€œcontent moderation.โ€ Does that mean he will allow more objectionable tweets? As advertising mogul Martin Sorrel sagely notes, โ€œClients donโ€™t want conflict, they donโ€™t want controversy.โ€
